Sarah and Jim from Sanibel arrived in Paris a week ago, and
we made plans to get together for drinks and dinner. We started with champagne at our apartment,
then we walked to Le Granite where I’d made a dinner reservation. That gave us a chance to show Jim and Sarah this Grenelle
neighborhood (as well as part of the Vaugirard neighborhood). It was great fun – we talked until we were
the second-to-last table to depart the restaurant. Food was excellent, too. After dinner, Tom and I walked them up to the Boucicaut
metro station, where they caught the line 8 to take them back to the 8th
arrondissement, where they’ve rented an apartment for a couple weeks. This morning, I’ve spent a lot of time dealing with emails
regarding the water pollution problem caused by Lake Okeechobee releases back
in south Florida. So today, mostly
what I have to share with you are more photos. A
bientot.
This
Wallace fountain (in the 16th arrondissement) is unusual because
of its straight columns in place of statuettes of four women.

Single-family
townhomes, when I do find them, spark my imagination in Paris. This one is just off the boulevard de Grenelle.
A
