Moving day was yesterday.  I should call it “cleaning day,” because of that old Girl Scout policy that I so firmly believe in:  you must leave the campsite cleaner than you found it.

What I thought we could do in two hours took more like six hours, and so it was 7PM when Tom went out to find a taxi while I guarded our seven bags in the porte cochère.

It only took about 20 minutes until Tom returned to the building, in one of those classic-looking but new black Parisian taxi cabs.  Tom was trying to tell the driver how to get over to our tiny street in the 6th arrondissement, via the rue de Vaugirard, and I was agreeing, but said we should give the driver the address so he could use his GPS.

And so I did.  The tiny street popped up on the GPS as soon as I had the first four letters spelled out.  Gotta love GPS.

The only thing that’s complicated about the trip over there is when you’re in a motor vehicle, because of the maze of one-way streets between the Saint Sulpice church and the Luxembourg Gardens.

We arrived at the apartment in the 6th at about 7:30PM.

We had a nice visit with Ron and Elisabeth after our arrival, and then we thought we’d go out to eat, but at the last minute, we pooped out.  We just munched on the food we’d brought over with us, unpacked our meager belongings, and settled in for the evening.

This morning, I had to do a little shopping just to get some basic supplies, and by the time that was all done, it was time to go out for Sunday afternoon walking along the Seine.  So there isn’t much of a journal entry for today.  Tomorrow morning I’ll tell you about our adventures of this afternoon.

So ttthhhatts all for now, folks!  A demain.
